A French company engaged in trade relations with countries in the Middle East and East Africa approached us with a request to propose the replacement of an old wooden cooling tower with a modern fiberglass tower. The client, a refinery, insisted that the mechanical systems meet ATEX (standard EN 60079-10-1 which is concerned with the classification of areas where flammable gas or vapour hazards may arise). Our company designed a tower that perfectly fit the existing concrete basin and the columns within it. To minimize biological contamination, our company designed air inlet louvers for the tower, covering the areas directly exposed to the sun. The mechanical system was ordered with its components meeting the relevant standards. An inspector from our subsidiary in India was sent to oversee the installation in order to reduce the installation costs. The tower was constructed in less than a month and operated to the full satisfaction of the client
