YWCT was awarded with a replacement contract for an old steel crossflow cooling tower. The new cooling tower (crossflow as well), was designed (with extra capacity) to fit the existing basin. Since it was an operating, productive, facitilty, our company built the new cooling tower (made of pultruded FRP) in our premises. The cooling tower was originally designed in modules which were shipped to the job site to be assembled near the old cooling tower. On the D day, YWCT’s team started dismentaling the old cooling tower, sending it to an authorized waste site. The two cells of the new cooling tower were lifted as complete units to be installed inside the concrete basin. System down time was less than five days. On the sixth day the plant was fully operational again.
