Air Products was selected to build an air separation unit (ASU) for Intel’’s new FAB in Kiryat Gat, for which a new cooling tower was required. In order to minimize erection time on site, YWCT was asked to build the cooling tower (three 6X6m cells) on its premises.

The cooling tower was built in modules. First, the basin, which included air inlets, was sent to the site in five separate units. It was positioned on an elevated concrete basin designed for easy maintenance. Second, the upper portion was sent (in five modules as well). Integration on site took less than five days.

Finally, the cooling tower was equipped with an interior set of sprinklers to meet fire safety regulations.
